Ninja H2O vs. Tribord Easybreath

Both the Tribord Easybreath as well as the Ninja H2O are full-face snorkel masks. And on top of that, they are two of the best full-face snorkeling masks you can get.

There are some noteworthy differences though that you should be aware of. And they are not only functional.

The Ninja mask offers a variant that has a GoPro mount. The Easybreath since in the latest version has an optional GoPro mount which you have to purchase separately. It simply clips on and offers a similar experience as the Ninja H2O mask with the GoPro mount.

Both masks look very similar. They are both available in a number of different colors which makes it more fun to use and wear them.

History of the Full-Face Snorkel Mask

The Tribord was the initial full-face snorkel mask. Many other masks imitated the basic design but not many are able to reach the quality and features of it.

The major accomplishments of the Easybreath design were the panoramic view, the ability to breathe through mouth or nose, the compact design with an integrated dry snorkel and the bright tip of the snorkel for safety.

Additionally, the designers packed a nifty system into the mask to prevent it from fogging up. And they have done a great job which many of the masks since then were not able to replicate.

The Ninja H2O is in many aspects as good as the Easybreath. Yet, the big difference is that it, unfortunately, costs quite a bit more. And we can’t really figure out why you’d pay so much more just for having a GoPro mount added. In that case, you’re better off with the Seaview 180 Degree (Tribord Easybreath vs. Seaview 180 Degree) which offers the same for a more reasonable price.

Tribord Easybreath vs. H2O Ninja

Both are very comparable masks made from highest quality materials. They sit comfortably and are easy to adjust and use.

The Easybreath has the overall best system to prevent fogging. The Ninja H2O offers the GoPro mount on one variant where the Subea Easybreath requires the purchase of an accessory to mount a camera.

However, if you don’t have a GoPro then it’s a moot point to have the mount and at that time it comes down to the Tribord design being superior as you don’t have to purchase the optional mount.

A huge difference in the past was that the Easybreath offered a lot of different sizes. With the switch to the latest model, the number of sizes went down to two. That matches the number of different sizes for the H2O mask.

Best Full Face Snorkel Masks – Reviews and Buying Advice

The Subea Easybreath claims that it fits around 90% of face sizes. You should have no problem finding a good fit if you are 10 years or older. The Ninja H2O is in no way different when it comes to sizing. You should be able to find a good fit with both masks.

Having a bright tip on the snorkel can be very important in crowded areas. It makes it easy to be seen from the many water enthusiasts that are on the water like for example surfers. The Ninja mask, unfortunately, does not offer a brightly colored tip and as such the Easybreath clearly is the winner when it comes to that safety feature.

Conclusion

The Ninja H2O is a well-made mask. It has a solid design and uses top-quality material. Similar to what you get from the Easybreath.

The biggest advantage of the Ninja mask in the past was that you got the GoPro mount. Yet, the Tribord scored on many (if not all) other important aspects. With the availability of the optional camera accessory, the Easybreath is the overall better choice when comparing the two masks.

The Subea Easybreath has a better system to prevent fogging, offers a bright snorkel tip to make it safer for you in the water, and it is cheaper. Overall, both masks are designed to reduce the chance of CO2 building up inside the breathing chamber. This is a danger of full-face masks which is more often seen with cheap masks.

If you need the GoPro mount then you might want to have a look at the Seaview 180 Degree v2 mask. It offers similar quality as the Easybreath yet has a GoPro mount. The cost of the Seaview is similar to the Tribord mask which makes them quite a bit cheaper than the H2O!

You will not be disappointed if you go for either of these masks. They both do their job and they do it well. The winner in many aspects is the Easybreath and it’s also our recommendation. You will enjoy your snorkeling trips as they are elevated to a new level.
