Nitrox Diver: £245 2 Day Course

This training course is aimed at divers using single cylinders in a no decompression diving environment. The course aims to educate and train divers to understand and utilise Nitrox mixtures up to and including Eanx 40% in single cylinders with a 3 litre cylinder for bail out.

The maximum depth of the course will be 30m and 2 dives will take place after a days theory. The dives are instructor led and supervised but no in water skills take place other than DSMB deployment and bail out skills.

Nitrox cylinders and Pony sets are provided and included in the price.

To attend this course you need to be Open Water Certified with 15 logged dives.

Equipment required:
Dry suit, mask and fins. ( semi drys are ok but only in the summer )
Weigh belt
Regulator with Octopus
Dive timer / Nitrox Computer. nb Air computers are not required
BCD
Knife / cutting device
Slate, DSMB and reel with 50m line

All these items are available to hire from us at competitive prices, please check for availability.

IANTD 3 day Advanced Nitrox: £395 or TDI 4 Day Advanced Nitrox + Deco. Procedures Course £495.

Our 2 most popular entry level courses which aim to introduce skills and procedures required throughout your technical diving career.

The aim of either course is to introduce the use of twin sets and stage cylinders for decompression dives in the 40m range. Gases used are up to Eanx 40% in the twin sets and up to 50% in the stage cylinder or 100% if taking the TDI route.

One day of theory is followed by 2 or 3 days diving where we make a total of 4-6 dives to a maximum depth of 40m.
We strongly advise that you take the Advanced Recreational Trimix Course if you plan to make regular dives in the 35m-50m depth range.

Please see the Open Circuit Trimix section for more information on the Advanced Recreational Trimix Course.

The maximum depth of the course is 45m but we normally dive on wrecks in the 35m range.

After you've completed Advanced Nitrox or Advanced Recreational Trimix training you can enter onto the Entry level Trimix or take a combined ERD and Advanced Trimix course if you have sufficient twin set diving experience.

Skills we teach and practise:

Gas Shutdowns
Gas sharing ascent
Stage cylinder removal and replacement
DSMB deployment
Deco gas switching
Decompression station techniques
Line laying and wreck penetration skills
Swim techniques

Equipment required:

Manifolded twin set in 02 service
3 - 7 litre stage in 02 service
Primary and secondary regulators for the twin set one with a long hose
Stage regulator
2 timing devices / nitrox computers
slate and pencil
50m reel and DSMB / lift bag
Wing style BC (STAB jackets are not recommended)

If you don't have any of the above equipment we can hire these items out to you, please check for availability and price.

Please note that this is not a single cylinder training course as some Instructors teach. There is little advantage of diving single cylinders below 35m as the duration is so limited that a decompression cylinder is of no use.

For true redundancy, safety, and to gain maximum advantage whilst diving below 35m, a manifolded twin set really is the preferred choice and most sensible option.
